Barranquilla will host the 50th AICO Board of Directors

The Barranquilla Chamber of Commerce will host 155 attendees representing 25 countries from Latin America, the Caribbean, the Iberian Peninsula, and the Hispanic and Portuguese communities of the United States.
The best practices in innovation of the Chambers of Commerce in the world will be disclosed to the participants of this important event. From May 22 to 24, the Barranquilla Chamber of Commerce will host the 50th Board of Directors of the Ibero-American Association of Chambers of Commerce - AICO, an event that promotes business exchange between 25 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Peninsula Iberian and the Hispanic and Portuguese communities of the United States, which allows increasing business opportunities between productive sectors. This meeting brings together more than 100 Chambers from different countries and includes an academic agenda whose central axis for this year will be: "The Future of the Chambers of Commerce".
Around this theme, we will inform the participants of the best practices in innovation of the Chambers of Commerce in the world. The academic agenda will be held within the framework of the Board of Directors, on Monday, May 23 and Tuesday, May 24, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. m. to 1:00 p.m. m., at the Dann Carlton Hotel with installation by Manuel Fernández Ariza, executive president of the Barranquilla Chamber of Commerce; Francisco Herrero, president of the Ibero-American Association of Chambers of Commerce – AICO; and Macarena Letelier, president of the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission – CIAC. We will also have the presence of the District Mayor, Jaime Pumarejo Heins; and the Governor of the Atlantic, Elsa Noguera De La Espriella.

This will be followed by the Conversation "The Chambers of Commerce in an Exponential World", in which Ángel Asensio, Vice President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce - AICO Iberian Peninsula; and Julián Domínguez Rivera, president of Confecamaras.
After the recess scheduled for the morning of Monday, May 23, we resume with the Panel "Chambers of Commerce facing the Fourth Industrial Revolution - AICO Approach", in which we will be accompanied by Jorge País, Vice President of the Iberian Peninsula; Humberto Lozano, Vice President North America, Central America and the Caribbean; and Rolando Kempff, Vice President Andean Region.
For the academic closing of the morning, the Conversation "Innovative experiences of the Chambers of Commerce in Colombia" has been scheduled, by Nicolás Uribe, executive president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá; Luis Fernando Pérez, executive president of the Cali Chamber of Commerce; Lina Ramírez, executive president of the Manizales Chamber of Commerce; and Elsa Delgado, executive president of the Chocó Chamber of Commerce; moderated by Manuel Fernández Ariza, executive president of the Barranquilla Chamber of Commerce.
The agenda of the second day, Tuesday, May 24, opens with the success stories, a space designed to show and inspire the participants with the successful Models of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, with the Presentation of the Digital Kit Program, by Adolfo Díaz- Ambrona, General Secretary of the Chamber of Spain and the intervention of Gonzalo Nieto, Executive Director CIMS – Corporate Innovation Management System at Procaps.
After coffee in the morning, we resumed with the conference “Maximizing International Trade-Let's Do Business Network”, with the participation of Joost Visser, general director of TIAO.
Later we will give way to the dynamic "AICO Virtual Community 2022: The future of the Chambers of Commerce", with the participation of Jorge Andón Londoño, Head of Business Networks and Affiliates; and Carlos Villamizar Suárez, Head of Knowledge Applications. We will resume in the afternoon with the meeting of the Board of Directors, to close the academic agenda for the second day.
Among the participating countries are: Andorra, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela and Turkey and Israel as (Adherent Members).
